How to Make a Cardboard Hilt

Introduction:
    There are many ways to make a hilt. There are those that are quick and mostly 2D, and there are those that are more carefully made and seem more realistic. Choose the best one for your sword. (To see how to make one, check out "How to Make a Durable Sword."

For Quick Hilts:
    To make a quick hilt, just cut out two mirrored pieces of cardboard. Sick them onto the blade of your sword, just above the handle, and tape the two loose ends together.

For More Realistic Hilts:
    Now, these ones are tricky. Follow the same steps in the quick hilts up to when you put it on the sword. But instead of just taping the two loose ends together, leave them separated. If your sword is similar to mine, then the two pieces should be about half to one inch apart. 
    Take a strip of cardboard and bend it so that it is more flexible. The wideness should be the same as the distance between the two pieces of cardboard. Start to cover the empty space in between, though you may prefer to stuff the interior to prevent the hilt from being squashed later on. (Note: If you want to paint the hilt, then do so before you attach it to the sword.)

How to Build a Breastplate (easier)

Building a breastplate is easy and simple. Down below, I will show you how. So the first thing you will need is two sheets of cardboard large enough to cover your torso. Cut them both in the shape you want, like down below:  You would want to do the same for the other side, which will be for your back. Decorate now if you wish. then punch two holes at the top for your arms and two holes at the bottom for your sides. Loop some string through them, and you're good to go!

How to Make a Durable Cardboard Sword
